Portland House is situated in the heart of the Lake District National Park, just a five minute walk to the centre of Keswick, with its wide variety of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Rod and Denise look forward to welcoming you and as keen Bikers themselves, they understand how important comfortable accommodation along with a great award winning breakfast is when touring. Individual riders and Motorcycle Club groups are welcome with the option of booking the whole house for stays of two or more nights. Rod is a volunteer rider for Blood Bikes Cumbria and member of the Institute of Advanced Motorcylists (IAM) and with prior notice is happy to lead rides that will show you the best of the Lake District roads. A discount is given to IAM members and Blood Bike Riders for stays of 2 or more nights. It is the responsibility of the person booking group accommodation to ensure that all group members are aware of the booking terms and conditions that can be found on the website and that payment is made to the proprietors in the event of any cancellation or failure to arrive by any member of their group.
Accommodation comprises of three flexible rooms which can be either Kingsized or twin bedded, two double rooms and one single room. All rooms are spacious and comfortably furnished with en-suite shower rooms, luxury toiletries, hospitality tray including home-made shortbread, TV, free Wi-Fi. For the comfort and safety of all guests Portland House operates a strict no-smoking policy. Private off-road parking and drying facilities for wet weather gear are provided. There are two petrol stations nearby with pressure washers and two launderettes that can provide service washes.
Keswick lies on the north shore of Derwentwater, a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains and fells in the heart of the Lake District National Park. The area offers motorcyclists the opportunity to ride roads in some of the most spectacular and breathtaking scenery in the country. Some roads are very challenging with steep climbs but are an experience not to be missed!
